What is it?

Microneedling is a procedure that stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely, creating a smoother, brighter, healthier, younger looking skin. Collagen P.I.N uses 36 x 30 gauge needles and allows the operator to adjust the needle depth from 0.5mm to 3.0mm to suit the area being treated, providing more effective treatment around the eyes and lips. There is also a 12 x 30 gauge needles P.I.N that can be used for stretch marks on the abdomen and thighs.

The micro-channels that are produced aid infusion of skincare products to allow greater penetration and overall efficacy. This can improve the appearance of acne scars, facial and décolletage lines, hyper-pigmentation and stretch marks.

What Happens next?

Following consultation, a topical anaesthetic will be applied to the area to be treated. This normally takes 20-30 minutes to work. The Collagen P.I.N is glided over the area to produce thousands of microscopic columns in the skin. This can take up to a further 20 minutes. The columns then close with 4-5 hours.

Is there down time?

Immediately after treatment it will look like you have moderate sunburn and your skin may feel tight. This subsides within 1-2 hours. It may be worth having this treatment in the evenings to allow you to go straight home.

How quickly can I expect results?

It can take up to 6 weeks to see results as this is the length of time it takes collagen to form. After 1-3 weeks your skin texture and tone will start to improve. After 6 weeks you will notice an improvement in fine lines, wrinkles and scarring.

How many treatments will I need?

A course of 3 treatments is required for maximum results spaced at 3-6 weeks apart. Alternating Microneedling and chemical peels is an excellent combination to gain results.
